About US
The department of Applied Sciences & Humanities Department equips first-year students with fundamentals in the applied sciences, basic engineering courses and subjects in the domain of humanities. Courses such as Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Drawing are an integral part of the engineering curriculum and a prerequisite for the domain knowledge in specialized branches. The Applied Mathematics course prepares students for mathematical concepts and applications in higher semesters. Courses in Communication Skills, Business Communication & Ethics and Environmental Science help familiarize students with corporate, social and ethical practices, making them meaningful contributors of knowledge to society. Apart from orienting students to the needs and demands of the engineering course, the department helps them adjust to the hectic schedule by creating a student-friendly and conducive atmosphere.
HOD's Message

Mechanics/civil/mechanical/
electrical and Communication Skills in engineering is mandatory. We take pride in the fact that our department has the strength of highly qualified faculty to guide the students in every domain of technical education making them familiar with all areas. The state of the art teaching methodology in classroom learning involves use of innovative strategies, comprehensive lectures, regular assignments and counselling sessions of teachers with the students. All laboratories are fully functional with the latest equipment’s and the students are encouraged to not only follow the prescribed syllabus rather go beyond regular academics and explore new areas and understanding of the subject. The department is leaving no stone unturned in providing the best of facilities to our budding technocrats and attain wavering success in life ahead. The Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities also organizes activities like science exhibition, Best out of waste (Model presentation) to make students aware about innovation ,due to which the interest of students towards engineering is increasing. Mr. ANURAG SINGH HEAD, DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED SCIENCE & HUMANITIES AIST,SAGAR

Mathematics offers courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students of various engineering disciplines, and aims to impart the sound knowledge of the various mathematical tools used and their applications in the engineering
disciplines. The syllabus includes areas such as Calculus, Differential equations, Laplace transforms, Fourier transforms, Z transforms, Fuzzy Mathematics, Probability and Graph Theory, helps the students in Computational Techniques, Discrete Structure and Statistical Testing. The Objective is to create engineers with strong mathematical background, creative thinking, and problem solving skills through systematic training and to help student understand the significance of application and logical thinking.
Applied Physics offers Engineering Physics courses to all engineering disciplines in their 1st year. It provides grounding in applied physics such as Optics, Quantum Physics, Materials Science, Applied Mechanics, Nanotechnology, Solid-State Physics etc. The objective is to enable
students to understand the basic ideas and concepts in Physics, which play a primary role in all branches of engineering, and thereby, motivate students to understand the relationship between physics and engineering.
Applied Chemistry provides basic knowledge of applied chemistry & Environment Engineering to all branches of 1st B. Tech students. The objective of teaching Chemistry is to impart a scientific approach to familiarize the important applications of Chemistry in the field
of engineering and technology and to create awareness about the major environmental issues.
Humanities imparts instructions to B. Tech students of the various engineering disciplines and caters to their needs in the areas of English, Technical Communication, Technical Report Writing, Philosophy, Economics and Human Development. The syllabus of English is designed
to help the students gain proficiency in listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills, and includes activities such as group discussion, mock interviews and presentation. These programs, by providing practical lessons, help students learn how to understand & communicate in the classroom or workplace.
Courses on Human Values are included with an aim to provide a firm grounding in human values to produce conscientious citizens. With an objective to meet the demands of contemporary business, the department also offers courses on Economics and Human Development.
Basic Electrical & Electronics Engineering- This course provides the student with the fundamental skills to understand the basic of semiconductor and components like diode, transistor, FET, MOSFET and operational amplifier It will build mathematical and numerical background for design of electronics circuit & component value.
Engineering Graphics.- The Engineering Graphics course aims at the following educational objectives: Comprehend general projection theory, with emphasis on orthographic projection to represent three-dimensional objects in two-dimensional views (principal, auxiliary, sections).
Manufacturing Practices – To analyze and understand the metal cutting phenomena. 2. To select process parameter and tools for obtaining desired machining characteristic 3. To understand principles of manufacturing processes.
